The 1991 Studio Ghibli film Only Yesterday, directed by Isao Takahata, has only just been given a United States release with an English dub, 24 years later. It had been the only Ghibli film lacking a U.S. release. I saw it at the Cornell Cinema, without the English dub, just the original Japanese voice cast and English subtitles.
The films, 21 in all dating back 30 years to 1984, will only be available as digital download-to-own, with each film retailing for $19.99. The films will not be available for rental at this time, but GKIDS says the movies will be available for purchase on all major digital platforms, including Apple TV, Amazon VOD, VUDU, Google Play, Sony, Microsoft and Fandango Now. Further, both the original Japanese and the English-language dubs of the animated films will be available for purchase.

It should be noted that only titles named on this page are distributed by Disney; Ghibli's 2011 film, From Up on Poppy Hill was not distributed in the U.S. by Disney, but rather by GKIDS, which currently now holds U.S. theatrical rights to all of Studio Ghibli's films, even those named below since 2011.
Disney originally had the rights of distribution of Ocean Waves in United States. but they never released the film onto any Home Media platform. In 2016, GKIDS announced that they are going to release Ocean Waves in North American theaters starting on December 28 of that year and expanding during early 2017. In 2008, distribution company Wild Bunch announced that it had licensed the film to a number of European releasing companies, including Optimum. It was released in the UK under the title Ocean Waves on January 25, 2010, shortly before the planned theatrical release of Ponyo, as part of the Studio Ghibli Collection.
