I'm trying to get an old HP 650c DesignJet (C2859B) plotter to be recognized in Windows 10 (64-bit) and to be able to print a test page/plot successfully. Trying to avoid re-installing Win 10 32-bit to be able to load older 32-bit driver if I can locate the right one.
You need to find the ip address of the tp link since using network is probably the best way. Once you have the ip address of the tp link, then use that address to load the printer as a local tcp/ip printer where you add printer, local printer, next and on the port page click on the create port and in the drop down choose standard tcp/ip, next and then put in the ip address and then you get to the makers page and choose hp on the left and then start trying hp designjet gl2 drivers for any designjets listed. See if the link below helps. If you can not find the ip address then use the default ip address and adjust one of your computers to the same ip frame, go to web page and change ip address to one within your frame and then add the printer once you reset your computer back to regular ip address.

Question: I am looking for the printing software for a hp 650c plotter. I downloaded and installed the driver of your site but would love to find the software for the XP operating system. I had it before my old computer quit to install on the new one. let me know if you can find it and at what price.
Does anyone have a patch for this. I have a windows x 64 bit system and cannot install the driver. I do have an old HD with a win7 64 bit that the driver was installed on. Can the driver be extracted and installed. Not sure how they got it to work with a 64 bit system.
Recommendation: Windows users who are inexperienced in updating HP Printer device drivers can use the DriverDoc driver update tool [Download DriverDoc - Product by Solvusoft] to help update these 650c drivers. This tool does all of the work for you by downloading and updating your DesignJet 650c drivers automatically, preventing you from installing the wrong drivers for your operating system version.
DesignJet 650c errors are often caused by viruses of outdated and corrupted device drivers. When the operating system that your device depends on gets an update, drivers can suddenly stop working with it. The good news is that you can often update the device driver to fix the Printer problem.
It can be difficult to find the exact drivers compatible with your DesignJet 650c. Even seasoned, tech-savvy people with the good habit of updating DesignJet 650c device drivers, can still find the entire installation and upgrading process time-consuming and annoying. Installing incorrect drivers may have an adverse impact on the functionality of your hardware or operating system.
If the driver listed is not the right version or operating system, search our driver archive for the correct version. Enter HP Designjet 650c Printer into the search box above and then submit. In the results, choose the best match for your PC and operating system.
After trawling through reams of forum info it appeared that the only solution was to use the 430 designjet plotter driver which worked but only in black and white / greyscale. However, I did eventually find a solution thanks to user jdm13 on the HP forums.
Update 7/5/13 from user Jeff Anderson I had the driver but, thought it was buggy because I kept getting a corruption error when I tried to install it in windows 8. But, I learned that I just needed to temporarily turn off Integrity checks and it loaded fine.

In addition, the sections mayappear to print in an incorrect order.CAUSE=====When you attempt to print a page which has a height or width greater than 48inches, Publisher attempts to tile the page before it prints it. This is adesign implementation that prevents Publisher from stopping (hanging) when youprint to printers which support roll paper.WORKAROUND==========Because the Windows 95 printer drivers for the HP DesignJet 350c and 650cplotters allow you to automatically enlarge a small page to fit on a larger one,you can reduce the size of your publication and then configure the printerdriver to enlarge the print out.For example, to create a banner that prints 36" tall by 72" wide (in landscape),use the following steps.NOTE: You can substitute the actual dimensions of the poster or banner you wantto make. For best results, you should follow these steps before you add any textor graphics to your banner or poster.1. On the File menu, click Print Setup.2. Select the HP DesignJet from the Name list.3. Click Properties, and then click the Paper Size tab.4. Click to select the "Fit To This Page" option and then click More Sizes.5. In the Custom Paper Size box, type the dimensions of the finished banner orposter. For example, type 36"x72". Click OK.6. Click More Sizes (next to the Application Page Size list).7. Type the dimensions as a proportion of the finished banner size. For example, type 18"x36".NOTE: This measurement should be less than 48 inches.8. Click to select either the Landscape or the Portrait option, and then clickOK.9. Click the Layout View tab.10. Optional: Click to select the "Show a Preview After Pressing the PrintButton" check box. This step allows you to preview your print job before it is sent to theplotter.11. Verify that the scaling information shown at the bottom of the dialog box iscorrect. For this example, the application page size should be 18"x36" andthe size of the enlarged page should be 36"x72".12. Click OK.13. Click OK.14. On the File menu, click Page Setup.15. Click Normal, and then click OK.16. Add the text and/or graphics you want to appear on your banner. When you view the page in Publisher, it appears to be 18"x36". However, when youprint it, it prints as a continuous 36"x72" page.STATUS======This feature is under review and will be considered for inclusion in a futurerelease. The printer drivers for the HP DesignJet 350c and 650c are manufactured byHewlett-Packard Corporation, a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make nowarranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance orreliability.PUB2000: Unwanted Gaps in Publication When Printing Banners [Q218729]PSS ID Number: Q218729Article last modified on 08-12-1999WINDOWS:WINDOWS======================================================================-------------------------------------------------------------------------------The information in this article applies to:- Microsoft Publisher 2000 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------SYMPTOMS========When you print a banner from Microsoft Publisher, you may notice unwanted gapsbetween pages.
